The numerous integration issues of our mixed network of PCs and Macs require a specialized level of expertise. We have been through several relocations during our expansion and also have to accommodate the various freelancers and subcontractors we use. VPN capability was another requirement for the flexibility we need. Stenhouse Consulting has managed to steer us through all these challenges and more with little or no down time ? always a plus in a fast paced environment. Stenhouse Consulting helped us set up our first IT system over ten years ago when we started with just a sales office and construction trailer. They have been with us every step of the way since then, their role expanding from gthe computer guysh to, what I would call, our technology planners. Through the years, Stenhouse Consulting has advised us on purchases, upgrades, systems design ? the works really, in terms of our IT needs.
Perhaps the biggest contribution was when they came to us almost two years ago with a proposal for a planned maintenance program. They took it upon themselves to analyze our IT spending by looking at billing patterns and types of services rendered to determine what key costs could be preventable. Over the past year, we have decreased IT spending by 25%. We meet at least quarterly to evaluate operations and plan for any expansion needs. Stenhouse Consulting was the obvious choice for IT support when I accepted a position at the Community Foundation. I had worked with them at my previous employer and was confident in their ability to help us improve our aging technology while working within a limited budget. They provided excellent support for our existing Windows NT 4 server, and when the time came, helped us migrate to Windows Small Business Server 2003. Now both staff and outside contractors can securely access critical information from home or on the road, allowing for greater productivity and reduced costs.
